After thousands of votes rolled in across the group stage and final, only one club remained at the top of the pile. Your 2023 Best New Crest, as voted by you, is Rochester FC!

Rochester voters filled up 40% of the final poll, while United PDX and St. Petersburg FC finished with 29% and 28% of the vote, respectively. The club that gave Rochester its tightest battle came in the group stage - a poll in which they outlasted Redlands FC by a single vote.

Who has 2023's Best New Crest?

Rochester FC features their striking blue and white colors surrounding a loon, the state bird of Minnesota. Fun fact - it's the second bird crest in the state of Minnesota this League Two season, joining Minneapolis City SC's crows.

Bavarian United’s crest is a classic. With nearly 100 years of history, they saw no need to change the crest featuring the Bavarian lozenge pattern, a symbol of the Bavarian region of Germany since the 13th century.

United PDX, Rose City’s newest League Two club, sports a simple and effective crest. The two-toned striped wings around the head of a bird are memorable imagery for the club. Does the newly rebranded United PDX get your vote?

St. Petersburg FC is bringing a brightly colored, cheery crest to the League Two ranks. The pink seen along the top represents the legendary Don Cesar hotel, while the yellow and blue represent the sand and surf from the area’s many beaches.

Group A

Arizona Arsenal SC sports a modern crest shape, featuring the top half of the Arizona state flag pattern on the top of the crest. Their hallmark teal coloring surrounds the cannon in the lower half.

Redlands FC takes a traditional crest shape and alters it to truly make it their own. The mountains that can be seen along the California skyline cover the top of the crest, while the oranges representing the Redlands orange groves take up a central role in the design.

North Alabama SC showcases a white silhouette of the state of Alabama, and the dark blue and red colors that the club sports throughout the season.

Swan City SC keeps the trend of bird crests going, with a white swan silhouette resting on a split background of the club's blue and orange. This club hopes to make its mark in a busy Southeast division.

Capo FC goes hard on the hometown imagery. The double bell tower that can be found in San Juan Capistrano, the club's home, can be seen sprouting from the bottom of the crest. Likewise, a cliff swallow that could be found nesting near Mission San Juan Capistrano take up a large part of the modern-shaped crest.

Academica SC sports their yellow and black on either side, a modern and simplified update on their yellow and white badge from years past. They still feature the year of their establishment, 1972, and a bell tower in the middle of their crest.

Monterey Bay F.C. 2 sports a crest nearly identical to the one the club uses for their USL Championship side. The club took the step towards expanding their pathway to professional soccer this year.

Sarasota Paradise’s crest features the sunset so often seen along the west coast of Florida, from the beaches of Siesta or Longboat Key. It’s circled by a palm frond, seen on the trees in Sarasota lining the streets.

Virginia Marauders FC has an unmistakable figure in the center of their crest, a skeleton pirate ready to wreak havoc on opposing teams in the Chesapeake Division. The “Shenandoah” text at the bottom is for the Shenandoah River running just east of Winchester, the club’s home.

Boulder County United’s crest showcases the mountain ranges that could be spotted all over Colorado, on a narrow shield badge featuring their name and the year the club was established. Three stars dot the top of the beige and navy crest.

RKC Third Coast features a circular crest, containing all the imagery you’d hope to find on the banks of Lake Michigan. A reflection on the water of a soccer sunrise with birds overhead are found in the inner circle, while the placement of the boats calls back to a classic era of crests.

Brevard Soccer Club’s crest shows off a beautiful symmetry that is inspired by the history of exploration and discovery in Brevard County. The nautical compass, layered with a shining star calls to the famous space station right next door.

FC Carolinas tells a clear story with their crest – they’re here to represent communities in both North and South Carolina. The classic vertical stripes on the bottom of the crest give a sneak peek into the club’s potential identity this season.

FC Buffalo sports a familiar, throw-back style badge with some modern, simplified features. Lightning bolts emanate from a ball in the lower left side of the badge-shaped crest, with stars between each bolt.

St. Charles FC showcases their history as the most westward American settlement before Lewis and Clark’s expedition into the land acquired from the Louisiana Purchase. The silhouettes feature the explorers on a simple badge shape, with the red and black that defines the club.

St. Petersburg FC is bringing a brightly colored, cheery crest to the League Two ranks. The pink seen along the top represents the legendary Don Cesar hotel, while the yellow and blue represent the sand and surf from the area’s many beaches.

Ironbound SC has been known by this crest for many years, but now, they make the leap into USL League Two. The badge-shaped crest is bordered by the club’s primary red, with a large letter “I” down the center.

Springfield Athletic SC is in their second season of League Two competition, but underwent a visual rebrand during the offseason. They’ve traded their first crest for this symmetrical artwork of a monarch butterfly, due to the large presence of the unmistakable migrator during the summers in Illinois.
