Capo FC joins USL League Two for 2023 Season

17-year-old club focused on community and player development

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - Today the USL announced that Capo FC will be the latest club to join USL League Two.

“We are excited to take this step forward with USL League Two,” Peter Carey, Capo FC Club Director said. “It will be an amazing opportunity for our players to continue to showcase their talent and play at the next level. Also, an amazing opportunity for our club to grow and provide high level soccer for our entire community to enjoy!”

The club’s mission is to build a strong character and work ethic for a team with high competitive expectations. The side will emphasize a structure of intelligent team play, which begins with the club’s roots in youth development.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Capo FC to League Two,” USL VP of Youth and Pre-Professional Development Joel Nash said. “They’ve been extremely successful in the pre-professional space to this point, and we’re so excited to have them join this ecosystem. Their emphasis on youth development and community engagement really sets them apart in the area.

2023 will be Capo FC’s 17th year as a club. Established in 2006, the club was founded on the idea of providing a path for all players, regardless of background, the ability to chase their dreams in soccer. Starting out with only three teams, Capo FC fielded 20 sides across different competitions by 2010. The senior team was established the next year, and was met with immediate success.

Capo FC also places a strong emphasis on building their community. Outside of soccer competition, the club offers a homework club, tutoring, leadership programs and more for their members.

Capo FC will join League Two competition beginning in the 2023 season.
