Schafer allowed fewer than 0.6 goals per 90 minutes and kept five clean sheets

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2022 League Two Golden Glove was awarded to Ocean City Nor’Easters goalkeeper Felix Schafer on Saturday.

Schafer anchored a powerful Ocean City defense that shut opponents out on five different occasions over the course of the season. With only .59 goals allowed per 90 minutes, and a .889 save percentage, Schafer was a terror for opposing attackers.

With Schafer in between the sticks, Ocean City went 9-0-2 in a Mid-Atlantic division in which they secured the title by 12 points.

The Golden Glove award is given to the player with the highest ratio of save percentage to allowed goals, after playing a minimum of 900 minutes in the regular season.

Schafer and Ocean City fell to the Long Island Rough Riders in the first round of the playoffs. It was the first time all season the club had allowed more than two goals.
