Portland Timbers U23 is riding a high in Week 10 as the team is dangerously close to clinching the only playoff spot in the Northwest Division. The Timbers have put up some consistent performances throughout the regular season earning them a record of 7-1-1 heading into its final three matches. The Timbers will enter the 2021 Playoffs in the Conference Semifinals and look to take on the playoff qualifier from the Mountain Division, which will be a good change of pace from its three divisional opponents.

Last Week:

The Des Moines Menace garnered its first loss of the season in Week 9 of Path2Pro play when they fell short to Chicago FC United in a 0-2 loss. Even with this loss, the Menace still hold the record for the longest undefeated streak in the 2021 season having won nine straight matches, which ultimately earned them the first playoff spot for the 2021 League Two playoffs. The good news for the Menace is they will have the chance to return the favor to Chicago on Wednesday night when the teams meet for the second time this season at Valley Stadium.
4 The Villages SC
(7-1-1)
Week 10: v. TBU

Last Week:

The Villages SC are heading to the 2021 League Two Playoffs and only have one opponent to face before their playoff run begins. With a record of 7-1-1, the Villages have been near impossible to beat, however their lone loss of the season came at the hands of Tampa Bay United, who they will face for the second time this season on Saturday night. Even if The Villages were to lose to Tampa Bay United, they still have enough points to remain the top-seeded team in the Southeast Division, thus earning them their second straight season of boasting the Southeast Division title.

With only two games left to play in the regular season, the Pioneers are almost ready to set their sights on the first round of playoffs, which will see the Pioneers host three teams from the Eastern Conference for the League Two Quarterfinals.

On top of that, West Chester currently boasts an eight game undefeated streak. Although the team currently sits in the top spot of the Mid Atlantic Division table, the Ocean City Nor’Easters still have a slight chance of climbing to the first position if they can manage to win every remaining match of their season.

Tampa Bay United has been the team to follow during the second half of the regular season as the new League Two club has unexpectedly found its way to a playoff berth in the 2021 season. The Tampa-based team is currently on a seven game undefeated streak and is accountable for one of the biggest upsets of the season when they defeated The Villages SC in a 3-1 victory. With only one match left to play, Tampa Bay United is looking to defeat The Villages SC for a second time this season in hopes of garnering one last win before taking on the Southern Conference Quarterfinals.

The Long Island Rough Riders are sitting pretty at the top of the Metropolitan Division with a record of 8-1-3. With a playoff berth already secured, the Rough Riders look to finish out the rest of its season strong with only two matches left to play against Manhattan SC and FA Euro New York. With both the Cedar Stars Rush and Manhattan SC in reaching distance of the first place position in the table, the Rough Riders will need to secure wins in its last two matches in order to solidify its first place standing and secure a higher seed heading into the playoffs.

With its most recent win against Reading United AC, the Nor’Easters claimed the last playoff spot in the Mid Atlantic Division leaving Northern Virginia FC in a compromising spot and tasking the Virginia-based team with earning the wild card playoff spot for the Eastern Conference. In addition, with Tuesday night’s win against Reading United AC, the Nor’Easters also tied up the all time record for the longest active rivalry in USL history, which now stands at a record of 22-22-8.
12 Kalamazoo FC
(8-1-4)
Week 10: @ FWF

Kalamazoo FC is the only team to have secured a playoff spot in the Great Lakes Division so far. The Michigan-based team currently boasts a record of 8-1-4 and has been on an eight game undefeated streak since its June 9 win against the South Bend Lions. If Kalamazoo wants to hold down its first place position in the Great Lakes Division table, then it must win its last match of the season, which would put the team out of reaching distance from its competitors in the division.

North Carolina Fusion U23 is heading to the 2021 League Two Playoffs. With only two matches left in its regular season, the Fusion U23s are looking to break the barrier on the 40 goal mark. As it stands, North Carolina Fusion U23 has the largest number of goals scored in the entire league with 38 goals to its name. The Flint City Bucks are looking for another trip to the League Two Finals, however they are still a few matches away from clinching a spot in the playoffs. As it stands, the team is currently in second place in the Great Lakes Division table with Kings Hammer only two points behind the Bucks. With only two matches left in its regular season, the Bucks still have a chance to pursue a first place finish in the division if Kalamazoo FC drops its last match of the season and the Bucks win its two remaining matches. Regardless, the Bucks have a pretty clear pathway to earning a spot in the playoffs.
