What matches are you tuning into in Week 9?

Tuesday, June 29: South Georgia Tormenta 2 vs. Charlotte Independence 2

South Georgia Tormenta 2 and Charlotte Independence 2 are sitting on the brink of earning a spot in the 2021 League Two Playoffs. Currently, Tormenta sits at second place in the Deep South Division’s table while Independence is hanging on tight to a third place spot in the standings. Tormenta looked strong in Week 8 having beat the Charlotte Eagles in a 3-0 match, whereas the Independence squad struggled to pick up the pace losing to the Southern Soccer Academy Kings in a 0-2 match. With the regular season coming to a close, a win for either team is crucial as the Deep South Division only has room for three clubs in the 2021 Playoffs.

Wednesday, June 30: Seacoast United Phantoms vs. Boston Bolts

The third place Seacoast United Phantoms host number two squad the Boston Bolts in a  Northeast Division clash on Wednesday night. With only seven points separating the two teams, the Phantoms are hoping to secure a win to boost their chances of qualifying for the League Two Playoffs. However, with only two playoff spots available in the Northeast Division and only four games left to play, the Phantoms will need to secure wins in every remaining game if they want to see their run for a title-winning season live on.

Wednesday, June 30: Chicago FC United vs. Des Moines Menace

Chicago FC United and Des Moines Menace are one of few teams to have already clinched a spot in the 2021 League Two Playoffs. Both Heartland Division teams have been playing at the top of their game this season with the Menace recording a true undefeated record of 9-0-0 and Chicago boasting an impressive record of 7-0-2. Although the teams have both secured their spots in the playoffs, this Wednesday night match should serve as a good warm up to a very competitive playoff schedule kicking off on July 16.

Friday, July 2: Texas United vs. Little Rock Rangers

Texas United and the Little Rock Rangers are making moves this week to secure a spot in the 2021 League Two Playoffs. With the teams respectively sitting at third and fourth place in the Mid South Division standings, a spot in the playoffs is still up for grabs. Texas United currently sits in fourth place with only two points separating them and the Little Rock Rangers. However, Texas United is seeking a bit of revenge from its last match with the Rangers, which ended in a 3-2 win for the Arkansas-based team. With both teams close to a playoff berth, this Friday night match is a must win for both sides.

Saturday, July 3: East Atlanta FC vs. Dalton Red Wolves SC

This Deep South Division match is one for the fans to keep eyes on as both East Atlanta FC and Dalton Red Wolves SC push for a playoff run in the 2021 season. Both teams currently sit in the middle of the Deep South Division table, however their chances of a playoff berth haven't quite diminished just yet. East Atlanta is sitting one point beneath Charlotte Independence who currently place third in the standings and the Dalton Red Wolves are only three points behind East Atlanta. A win for East Atlanta could secure a third place spot in the standings while a win for the Red Wolves will place the squad in a better position to continue making a run for a third place finish in the division’s table, which only has three total spots for playoff teams.

Saturday, July 3: Park City Red Wolves SC vs. Ogden City SC

Ogden City SC is on a roll in the 2021 season having won every match of its season so far. Their impressive performance has earned them a first place spot in the Mountain Division standings, which only has one spot available for the 2021 League Two Playoffs. With only three matches left in Park City’s season, the Utah-based club will need to secure all three wins if they want to qualify for the 2021 playoffs. However, the Red Wolves will have their work cut out for them as all three of their remaining matches will force them to take on the top-seeded Ogden City SC.
