Head Coach of Des Moines Menace, Mark McKeever
Tampa, Fla.- USL League Two announced today that Des Moines Menace’s Mark McKeever has been named the League Two Coach of the Month for May. The award is well-deserved as McKeever has led his team to a perfect month with four wins in four contests to remain on top of the league standings.
Des Moines Menace clinched its first win in a stunning 5-1 victory over the Green Bay Voyageurs to kick start the 2021 season. Since then, the Iowa-based club has gone on to compete in three more games, which has led them to an undefeated run in the first four weeks of Path2Pro play.
McKeevers’ squad looks to be on course to securing its spot as top competitor of the Heartland Division, having notched the most goals in the division with 10 goals and conceding only three. In addition, three of McKeevers’ men have placed in the top 10 of the first edition of League Two’s 2021 Top Prospects list with Kingsford Adjei earning the top spot. (However, the season is far from over and with matches against Chicago FC United and Kaw Valley FC still to be played, the true test has yet to come for the Menace.)
“I am extremely grateful for the recognition of League Two Coach of the Month,” said McKeever. “I am sure most coaches in this position will always highlight the people they are surrounded with as the people who really deserve the recognition. I have a wonderful group of players who I am blessed to work with every day! On top of that, an administration who works tirelessly to provide the players with what they need to succeed. Then of course the fans and their continuous support of these boys and their talents. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love while being around great people.”
McKeever was selected as League Two’s Coach of the Month by the USL League Two Technical Committee.
