Multi-faceted, youth centric club added to Metropolitan Division for the 2021 season

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League today announced the addition of Morris Elite SC to USL League Two, extending the sprawling footprint as the country’s top pre-professional league. Morris Elite SC brings an additional League Two presence to New Jersey, with Ocean City Nor’easters and Cedar Star Rush among the other clubs to claim the Garden State as home, and will compete in the Metropolitan Division beginning next season.

“Announcements like the addition of robust clubs with the professionalism of Morris Elite SC help keep our focus on what is important—which is providing continuous, high quality opportunities in pre-professional soccer for emerging talent to develop,” said USL VP of League Two Joel Nash. “We’re thrilled to welcome Morris Elite SC to the League Two family and are eager to see them compete next season.”

Led by President and Owner Vincenzo Bernardo, the club is driven by a mission to provide exceptional support and training to the club’s athletes with the guidance needed to be successful on the field and in the community. The club’s motto – One Club, One Passion! – speaks to its dedication to unite the pre-professional pathway with its local community to make a lasting impact on the region.

“Morris Elite is extremely honored to be joining USL League Two and begin competing in the country’s top pre-professional league,” said President and Owner Vincenzo Bernardo. “This raises Morris Elite to a top-tier premier youth soccer club and we are confident we will continue to deliver at the highest level. Our immediate goal is to field a team that can qualify for the playoffs and potentially win a League Two title. Today is a great day for our club, community and the sport of soccer in the United States.”

“We are excited to have a USL League Two team within our club which offers a proven developmental pathway for our youth players,” added the club’s Director of Coaching & Soccer Operations Scott Maloney. “We have been working diligently behind the scenes over the past few months for this opportunity. We are one of a select few clubs in our market that can provide our members an opportunity like this. We look forward to seeing our players progress through our pathway and return to play for our senior team during the summer months.”

In joining League Two, Morris Elite SC will offer a proven pathway to professional soccer for its players, both those at the elite collegiate level and the top academy-age players from the region. On top of the valuable experience of playing in the nation’s most competitive pre-professional environment, League Two also provides growth opportunities for its coaches, executives and communities.
