Peer vote selects Southern Conference's best 11 players this season

Selections for the 2019 USL League Two Southern Conference Team of the Season were determined by peer voting. Each League Two club submitted a ballot for multiple players at each position, and the players receiving the most votes were named to the Team of the Season.

Robert Edwards - Goalkeeper - SC United Bantams

Edwards was outstanding in goal this season, only allowing 10 goals in 11 matches for the Bantams. He racked up 40 saves and helped the Bantams to a playoff appearance.

Kyle Ferguson - Defender - SC United Bantams

Another key piece in a strong Bantams defense, Ferguson was instrumental in keeping opposing forwards at bay.

Shalom Dutey - Defender - Charlotte Eagles

Dutey was a strong presence at the back for the Eagles and contributed at the other end of the pitch with three goals.

Artur De Luca - Defender - Peachtree City MOBA

De Luca did a little bit of everything for Peachtree City, anchoring the defense while leading the team in goals (four), assists (two) and shots (18).

Luca Mayr - Midfielder - South Georgia Tormenta FC 2

The Steyr, Austria native was a bright spot even on a team full of excellent players. Mayr bagged seven goals on the season and assisted on three more as a driving force behind one of the league’s most dangerous attacks.

Adrian Billhardt - Midfielder - South Georgia Tormenta FC 2

Billhardt played a major role in Tormenta 2 capturing the Southern Conference title, using his vision and finishing ability to tally five goals and three assists.

Harrison Roberts - Midfielder - SC United Bantams

Roberts was Mr. Reliable for the Bantams, appearing in every regular season match and racking up over 1,100 minutes played. The team depended on his ability to keep things organized in the middle of the park, and he chipped in two goals and an assist as well.

Kobe Perez - Midfielder - South Georgia Tormenta FC 2

The third Tormenta 2 midfielder in the Southern Conference Team of the Season, Perez did yeoman’s work for South Georgia, appearing in all 14 regular season matches and getting on the scoresheet twice.

Leonardo Paiva - Forward - The Villages SC

The Brazilian striker led a potent offense for The Villages. Comfortable with both feet and equipped with wonderful creativity, Paiva scored seven goals and assisted on seven more.

JJ Donnelly - Forward - South Georgia Tormenta FC 2

The native Londoner had an efficient season in front of goal, scoring six and assisting on two in 12 appearances.

Jonathan Ricketts - Forward - Dalton Red Wolves SC

Ricketts made the Red Wolves’ attack tick with three goals and three assists in just 555 minutes played.
